Flayr Broadcast Clocks
======================

Broadcast countdown clocks for After Effects 2026 or later, from flayrfx.com/video-tools/broadcast-clocks

OPEN
  1. Install the Geist font (free: fonts.google.com/specimen/Geist). The project uses Geist Medium and SemiBold.
  2. Open "Flayr Broadcast Clocks.aep". Keep the Footage folder next to it.

EDIT THE SLATE
  Open the composition "EDIT ME - Slate details" (folder 01) and type over the example text.
  Every clock reads those layers, so you only type each detail once. Type a single - to leave a line blank.
  Long entries shrink to fit their line rather than run into the clock.

THE CLOCKS
  02 Clocks UHD 3840x2160 and 03 Clocks HD 1920x1080: 10, 15, 20, 30 and 60 second clocks at 25 fps.
  Each comp's timecode runs to 10:00:00:00, the programme start: the 10 second clock starts at 09:59:50:00.
  The count, sweep and hand are expressions that read the comp's length and frame rate:
    - another length: change the comp's duration (Composition Settings); the face re-divides itself;
    - another frame rate (29.97, 50, 59.94...): change the comp's frame rate.
  The hand moves in one-second steps and the clock cuts to black for the last 3 seconds, as the UK DPP
  delivery specification asks. There is no audio over the clock.

SYNC PLOP (optional)
  Two layers at the top of every clock, switched off: 2 frames of white at 09:59:57:06 and one frame of
  1 kHz tone at -18 dBFS. Switch on the video (eye) and audio (speaker) if your broadcaster wants it.
  The tone file is for 25 fps; at other rates trim it to one frame.

RENDER
  Render to Apple ProRes 422 HQ (Output Module: "High Quality"), Rec.709, with 48 kHz 24-bit audio.
  The ready-made renders on the website were made from this project.

Delivery specifications differ between broadcasters: check the current one for your channel.
Made by Flayr. Free to use for your productions; please don't resell the project itself.
